APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Apprenticeships have provided an ideal pathway for engineers at O.L.D. Engineering, with three of the team currently enrolled on associated vocational engineering qualifications.

One of the newest members of the team, 16-year-old Ollie Smith, who began his engineering apprenticeship journey after a successful work experience period, explains, “I am currently studying level 3 engineering and I have started my second and final year. At Nuneaton College (Warwickshire College Group), I study a variety of topics such as CAD and engineering drawings, mechanical principles, engineering materials and also health and safety in a workplace.”

Apprenticeships are for people who; have a passion for learning, are determined to succeed, and will be able to make the most of the hands-on experience and qualifications on offer.

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

In addition to apprenticeship training, two senior managers at O.L.D. Engineering are undertaking the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership programme. This prestigious qualification will reinforce their current management expertise and, upon completion, will lead to them acquiring Chartered status.

Through the CMI qualification, managers will cover topics such as; information-based decision making, resource management, finance, meeting stakeholder needs, and project management.
